“Without clear lines of communication, our ideas would stay within our own small development teams instead of becoming mature products. While this is obvious to those of us who have become experienced engineers, the real question is: Why is it lost to us when we are engineering students?”
Akbar R Khan, Software Systems Engineer, USA,
“Good Communication Is Essential...” (2014)
The quote emphasizes that communication is more than just a skill in the world of engineering. In order for the project to move forward, ideas must be presented to the development team. When ideas are kept within the team, the potential of engineers is hidden and no one knows of it. Communication allows for the exchange of ideas and the development of improvements.
As engineering students, they focus on technical skills rather than communication skills. The fact is that lack of communication skills, engineers often do not receive attention from others. On the other hand, experienced engineers understand the value of communication and how it affects real-world situations.
